Book Review from 2007

Cover
Also in the memory of Arthur Tolcher who died in March 1987

This book is a collection of private and family photographs of Eric Morecambe. It is a scrapbook of articles, reviews, letters, diary extracts (from 1967), memorabilia and lots more.

The book opens with a very basic biography of Eric and family life from Gary. It in itself makes interesting and easy reading.

The chapters are split into sections of Eric’s life. At the beginning of each chapter is an extract of Eric’s Diary from 1967. There then follows a wonderful selection of black and white photographs relating to that chapters title. Each chapter also includes a relevant piece from Gary.

The chapters are entitled, “In the beginning”, “The Fifties”, “The Sixties”, “Family and Friends”, “The Seventies” and “Charities and Comfort”.
