Ten foot high wall art
Sunshine Ale
The Sunshine Garden of Fame, if you were not aware, is a project that began when the statue of Eric Morecambe was vandalised. After its repair and return to the holiday resort, ideas were beginning to circulate about what else could be done, especially around bringing Eric and Ern together somewhere in the town.
Graham Ibbeson, the original sculptor of the Eric statue was charged with coming up with an idea that would reunite the comedy duo while a committee of dedicate fans set about fund raising.
Since then there has been several events and things continue to move forward. A new ale has been created by Cross Bay Brewery, aptly named Sunshine Ale, with a percentage of profits going to the project.
In the summer of2016, as part of the 75th Anniversary celebration a ten foot high bronze wall art will be erected in the new Sunshine Garden of Fame, to be situation opposite the Winter Gardens theatre.
The project has its own website covering the events planned. (Website no longer available).
There is an impressive set of things coming up including;
The Art of Comedy Exhibition / Sale to be held at the Lavery Gallery in London in October 2015.
Celebrity Auction with 75 lots up for grabs covering Morecambe and Wise, Laurel and Hardy, Denis Law, Les Dawson and many others.

75th Anniversary Variety Show. An all-star show in the variety format.
