Eric and Ern
This DVD, given away free in local libraries (at least that’s where we got ours!) is part of the BBC RAW (Reading And Writing) campaign.

Because it has started to find its way onto eBay we thought we would inform fans of the content.

It is basically a short interactive quiz, teaching children about the use of words and testing their powers of observation.

There are five sections, each having a different comedy act associated with it. Catherine Tate, Only Fools and Horses, Absolutely Fabulous, Porridge, Fawlty Towers and Morecambe and Wise are the acts in question.

Each section begins with a short clip and viewers are asked to watch and listen carefully. In Morecambe & Wise’s case the clip is the one with Des O’Conner who is trying to find out who insulted him.

Once the clip has finished you are asked a multiple choice question about it such as “What is Des trying to find out? “.

After that you are asked a few spelling questions, again based on the clip, spell seventies for example.

If you get a good score you are then given a bonus clip to watch, in Eric and Ern’s case, we get the Stripper.

That’s all for Eric and Ern fans.
