Britain's Most Loved and Best Comedy Double Act

Christmas Cracker

Video Review from 2007

Cover

This video compilation features clips from the BBC Christmas shows, and mostly avoids the more well known selections.

Having said that, Angela Rippon is present, with that dance routine, as is the reindeer sketch. Apart from these though, we are treated to some excellent material ranging from 1971 to 1976, with songs, plays and routines that always manage to steel a smile.

The are a variety of guest stars to spruce up events including Bruce Forsyth, Dick Emery and Glenda Jackson. Thankfully Antony and Cleopatra is not amongst the clips.

Not that it is bad, far from it, but it just seems that every other compilation has this on. On this video though, Glenda helps out Eric and Ern in Victoria and Albert.

A good selection overall, especially as the clips are not the usually ones dragged up for compilations.
