Britain's Most Loved and Best Comedy Double Act

Morecambe And Wise - Musical Extravaganzas

Video Review from 2007

Video cover

With Lena Zavaroni
This compilation concentrates on the best loved music and dance routines from the Morecambe and Wise shows.

Littered with celebrity guests doing what they normally wouldn't, not only does it show how good Eric and Ernie were at this kind of thing, but just how much comedy they could squeeze into them.

One of my all time favourite routines they ever did is the horse and cart love song. Ernie tries to sing a love song to his woman as Eric drives through a country lane. Shaking the reins, Eric, dressed in what looks like Cossack clothes yells 'Giddeup' and is pulled from his seat out of shot. He clambers back on only to repeat it again.. Each time it gets funnier.

Good, gentle fun that's worth watching.
